The NDIS is the National Disability Insurance Scheme to assist Australians under the age of 65 who have a permanent or significant disability with the reasonable and necessary supports so they may enjoy an ordinary and active life.
MCVA can assist in helping achieve these goals and this life by providing community participation and transport to the participant. The NDIS allows MCVA to support participants to:
- Pursue their goals and aspirations
- Enhance their choices including the manner and sources of assistance.
- Increase independence and community participation and inclusion
- Develop capacity and relationships to actively take part in their local community
MCVA provides encouragement and assistance to people so they can fully participate in their community and reach their goals. Caring staff can accompany participants to social activities and outings, such as the gym, library, movies, meetings, groups or just go out for coffee and/or lunch. Staff can also accompany participants to appointments and therapy sessions if it is necessary and be involved in programs and groups which are of interest to the participant.
Our organisation can also assist NDIS participants with access to transport services. We are able to provide wheelchair accessible transport for people who require the use of a wheelchair to travel. All who utilise this service need to travel with a carer or support worker, should they require any assistance at all.
